You could go in the medina ( the city inside the walls). There are lots of handicraft shops because of the large number of tourists that go there every year, looking for beautiful beaches and experiencing new cultures and life styles. Hammamet is (as you may know) Tunisia's most famous resort. Tip: when shopping from the medina, you should really think before asking the price, 'cause the sellers are quite pushy and they might ask for more money than the products are really worth.
